N.a. "AWARE Singapore." Aware.org.sg. N. p., 2019. Web. 18 May 2019.
This website is one of the websites I referenced in my "seeking help" tab. It is a Singapore-based organisation that helps sexual abuse victims.
N.a. "Survivorsuk | Support For Male Victims Of Sexual Abuse And Assault." SurvivorsUK. N. p., 2019. Web. 18 May 2019.
This website is one of the websites I referenced in my "seeking help" tab.
N.a."The 1 In 6 Statistic - Sexual Abuse And Assault Of Boys And Men." 1in6. N.p. Web. 26 Apr. 2019.
This source provided many statistics of male sexual assault victims. This was a great precursor to my topic, as it answered my low-level question: “Approximately how many males are sexually assaulted?”
N.a. "Victims Of Sexual Violence: Statistics | RAINN." Rainn.org. N. p., 2019. Web. 26 Apr. 2019.
This source featured statistics of male sexual assault victims and addressed the effects that could occur to a victim of sexual violence. This source was of use to me because it provided specifics on how sexual assault can really affect a victim of sexual assault.

Schroeder, Joanna. "Yes, men can be sexually assaulted. Gender stereotypes make it hard to talk about." Vox. 23 Oct. 2018. Web. 26 Apr. 2019.
This source addressed the stereotypes that are placed on the different genders. This article provided new perspective that I didn’t think to look into before, because part of my research was concerning stereotypes and how they affect males.
Storr, Will. "The Rape Of Men: The Darkest Secret Of War." the Guardian. 17 Jul. 2011. Web. 26 Apr. 2019.
Out of all the articles that I used in my research, this one was the most compelling to me. "The Rape Of Men: The Darkest Secret Of War." tells the heartbreaking story of male wartime sexual violence victims in Africa. This story features interviews and narratives from the men who have faced wartime sexual violence. This source was the most compelling as it opened up a whole new world to me; prior to reading this article I had never heard of wartime sexual violence. This article was extremely helpful for my research, and it is a reliable source as it features both firsthand accounts and accounts from a journalist.
Thompson, Sam. “I’m Talking About Male Rape To Encourage Other Victims Of Sexual Abuse To Do The Same - BBC Three." BBC Three. 15 Dec. 2017. Web. 26 Apr. 2019.
I thought that Sam Thompson’s story was important to share as he is incredibly brave for being able to write this article. This article gave a firsthand account of a man’s life after being raped. He raises the point that if more people that share their story, the subject will be less stigmatised more and more and the people affected by this issue will be more encouraged to come out and seek help if they need it. I used this source to answer the question: “In what ways can social media affect male survivors of sexual assault?” In Sam Thompson’s case, he used the media to share his story in a positive light and to educate others.
